For both projects, the existing clubhouses were transformed to embrace the park and it’s surrounds via three economic and environmental strategies;
1. Retain the bulk of the building fabric, (brickwork and concrete) and remove the roof, extraneous interior walls and lightweight elements
2. Transform the plan with an extended set of bleacher seats to connect the building to the park and passing pathway. Upgrade and reconfigure the amenities for equal access and equal amenity for womens teams.
3. Remove and redesign the existing roof to bring light into the plan and provide views out to the trees. Extend the new roof over the verandah and the new bleacher seating. A raised portion, marks the central entry and circulation axis.
