Hyams Beach House

A very sweet and charming fibro cottage was largely retained and a double volume added at the rear. A slice through the middle opens up the spaces, connecting the old to the new, the beach to the bush, the back to the front. The rear room and deck are raised 600mm to frame out the roofs of the houses below thus creating a framed view of the bay. The slight change in level and the distilled view, strengthen the connection of the room to the view.
