The Legs 11 was designed for “Gilligans Island” Taylor Square, which at the time, was the number one national pedestrian death spot. The scale of the sculpture amplifies the otherwise diminutive scale of the pedestrian, to the fast through traffic that used to pass along Bourke Street through Taylor Square. At night its reflective cladding was animated by the headlights of cars driving up Bourke Street.
